I am trying to find details of the Prisoner of War Camp at Botesdale. Lists of soldiers based there, in a friends belongings (who died in 2010) he left me, I have letters he wrote to home whilst stationed at Botesdale Camp, although he wrote nothing about his duties in the camp, he was a Clerk, he has wrote about local people in particularly The Armstrong Family at New Waters Farm, so I would be interested in details of the camp and also to know if any of the Armstrong family are still around.

      Hi Neil
Apologies that this hasn’t been picked up. I suggest you contact the Ipswich branch at with the details and they will be able to do a quick check to see what records we might hold. You can then visit the branch or ask us to undertake paid research if that’s more convenient.
      Best wishes
