After serving as a home defence force until 1944 the Suffolk Yeomanry, a long established Territorial Regiment, fought in an anti-tank role with great distinction in the Normandy campaign, in Belgium and in Holland. They ended their wartime service as part of the army of occupation in Germany. Nick recently co-authored with Dr. Margaret Thomas The Loyal Suffolk Hussars; a History of the Suffolk Yeomanry 1794-1967, the research for which will be discussed in this talk.
