With the Guildhall currently undergoing extensive renovation and restoration this looks at the building, the work of its owners, and its varied uses between 1660 – 1830. Belonging to the town’s oldest and premier charitable body it was also home to Bury Corporation. Besides being a seat of authority it was a place of political intrigue, electioneering, justice, feasting and entertainment.
