Private Sidney Cooper

4 October 1916
Pte Sidney Cooper  s/no 15274  age 21
buried Struma Military Cemetery  plot IV C 9

Sidney was  from a farming family.  He and his siblings were born in Wenhaston and, as with Pte Haselwood, the family moved frequently – to Harkstead, then Bramfield and by 1916 his father was living in Wherstead.

Despite so many Suffolks dying on the same day, only Cooper and Clover are buried anywhere near each other.  Row C is on the left hand side of this picture.  There are 15 stones in each row, Clover is the 4th along and Cooper the 9th.
