Afternoon Tea Walk: The “Rags and Bones” of Ipswich

Location: Start at The Hold
Date: 5 October, 2021
Time: 2:00 – 3:30pm
Price: £9 (includes a hot drink and sweet treat from The Café at The Hold)

A walk to explore the area of Ipswich described in Frank Grace’s excellent book “Rags and Bones”. While much of the old ‘Potteries’ area of town has been demolished there is still enough of it left to bring to life some of the stories described so vividly in the book. Follow the tragic tale of Polly and Joe and hear of a classic example of a Skimmington Ride here in Victorian Ipswich.

Price includes tour ticket and a hot drink and sweet treat from The Café at The Hold. Ticketholders are able to redeem their food and drink on the day of the Afternoon Tea Walk.

This walk will be delivered by the Ipswich Tourist Guides Association.
