Construction work begins

Work began on the construction of The Hold building in August 2018, with the demolition of a derelict building at the northern end of the site. Our contractors, RG Carter, are now preparing the site for piling work, to start later in October.

The construction will focus on the strongrooms first, where the archives will be kept.  The building will formally open to the public in Spring 2020.

Watch this space for updates on the progress of the construction work.
