The Herd Community

The Creative Change group ran online wellbeing through creativity sessions online during the lockdown period of COVID-19. The ‘Herd Community’ elephants became really popular. The elephants are made from recycled plastic milk bottles and decorated with other materials the artists had at home.

Some of the elephants are based on famous people or places. In the Global Events exhibition we have four elephants made by local artist Nazima. She created two elephants using words and phrases associated with COVID-19 and the local response to the pandemic. One elephant is covered with negative words, and the other with positive words to show the balance between the two.
