Share Your Local Stories

Do you have local Suffolk stories of the end of WW2 to share? Can you help us build a better picture of how VE Day and VJ Day were celebrated and marked in Suffolk? Do you have items or stories relating to earlier anniversaries of the end of the war, such as the 50th anniversary in 1995?

Our role at Suffolk Archives is to preserve and protect Suffolk’s history and we are always looking to build a better understanding of local history through personal stories, memories, and documents.

Your responses could become a valuable part of the Suffolk Archives collection to be preserved for future generations. With all the options, you can choose to remain anonymous.

Complete our online survey to tell us about your local stories or memories of VE Day and VJ Day. It is completely up to you how much information you wish to share, which means the survey can be as long or as short as you like! Write down your own recollections, or share the digital survey with friends and family to add their memories. There is also an opportunity to upload digital content such as scans of documents, photographs, posters or diary entries. You can fill this survey in multiple times if you wish.
