Impact of COVID-19

In line with the government’s gradual relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions and the changes introduced yesterday, we can confirm that the Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft branches of Suffolk Archives will reopen to the public in the week commencing 3 May.

Both branches will be implementing the appointment system and COVID-19 safety procedures trialled last autumn. Appointments will be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and alternate Saturdays (starting on Saturday 8 May). Appointments times will be 10am – 12pm (both branches), and 2pm – 4pm (Bury only). There will be three customer slots per appointment. Bookings will need to be made by phone or email at least one week in advance. For full details please see the individual Bury St Edmunds or Lowestoft re-opening pages.
