Reopening Bury St Edmunds Branch

From Tuesday 4th May 2021, the Suffolk Archives Bury St Edmunds branch will reopen for customers who have booked appointments.

We are currently taking bookings up to the end of June 2021.

Customers will need to make appointments in advance.

There will initially be four to six sessions available a week; on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and alternate Saturdays (Saturdays starting on the 8th May). On each of these days there is a morning session [10am-12pm] and afternoon session [2pm-4pm] with three customer slots available per session.

Customers can only book to attend one 2-hour session per week and can book 2 appointments in advance.

All appointments will take place in the downstairs rooms with no access to the first floor. There will also be no access to microfilm/fiche machines, paper catalogues, card indexes, or public computers/ laptops at this time.

We are unable to produce items from our Outstore, and some of our largest items may not be able to be produced, but we will inform you of this before your appointment.

We will regularly review our current arrangements and expand our services when it is safe for us to do so.
